I am exceptionally proud to support Abbie Hills at Cannes, where she will be wearing Kathy Kyle studio. I met Abbie at an f:entrepreneur event at Parliament, celebrating her induction to the Small Business Britain ialso100, which I have also had the honour to be named.
Abbie Hills is a writer, producer, and emerging public voice in the UK screen industry, creating work that explores youth culture and the experience of feeling slightly out of step. A member of BAFTA Connect, her storytelling often moves between the 1960s and the present day, focusing on characters who exist just outside the centre of the action. Blending humour, nostalgia, and sharp social observation, her work has already gained industry recognition.
In 2026, Abbie was selected for the Women in Film & TV (WFTV) mentoring scheme to support her writing and producing. “Immaterial” marks her return to producing short films, with a second short currently in development featuring a high-profile comedian in the lead role. Her disability-led comedy pilot, “Femme”, won Best Comedy at Lit Laughs and is an official selection for HollyShorts Comedy 2026, while her feature crime script “Follow Me Down”, was selected for the Gold List at the British Independent Film Festival.
Alongside her creative work, Abbie is the founder of Dazey Talent (also known as The Dazey Hills Company), a disability-led, diversity-focused talent agency and production company established in 2019, representing clients across the UK and Europe. Abbie’s, herself living with cerebral palsy, has been recognised on the Enable Global Top 50 list, National Diversity Awards and named in the f:entrepreneur Top 100. Using her platform for advocacy, Abbie has also featured in Forbes, Screen Daily and spoken on stage for Screen UK and BFI at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025.
She also works as an access coordinator, supporting D/deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent talent within the entertainment industry.
