Where are your scarves made?

Our scarves are hand painted by Kathy, sustainably printed in the UK and hand sewn in France.

Our collection of 100% pure silk scarves are sourced from the only Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified and organic silk supplier in the UK.

Does Kathy paint clothing?

Yes, Kathy also hand paints clothing like upcycled shirts and dresses as well as responsibly sourced cotton t-shirts.

Do you create stationery?

Yes. We create hand painted stationery on C.M. Fabriano card and they can be found in our shop.

You can also create matching stationery, personal branding and more. Get in touch to start creating.

What are the scarf sizes offered?

All scarves are hand-rolled and finished. Therefore the dimensions are approximate and may vary from time to time.  Sizes include:

45 x 45 - Pocket square

90 x 90 - Standard scarf size

135 x 135 - This may be creatively worn as a top, a dress, and even a skirt.

What happens in a commissioning process?

Based upon our 1:1 consultation (via zoom, a cup of coffee or a cocktail), Kathy creates a design for the scarf or dress for your review.

You can touch and have a look at the fabric and finish of the silk sample. Kathy will create a design specifically for you on her iPad or sketch it out on paper.

Once you approve your design, Kathy will draw and hand paint your scarf design on archival Arches watercolour paper.

Your final artwork will then be sent to our silk scarf manufacturing partner for production.

Kathy will personally guide you through the process regarding selecting your scarf size, icon/theme placement, background, colour ways, and finishing.

How is silk sustainable?

Silk is the only natural fibre that produces more oxygen than it consumes, and the mulberry tree - where our silk is derived - contributes towards carbon neutrality. These trees don’t need harmful chemicals or pesticides to thrive.

You can be rest assured that your scarf is made without harmful chemicals, where 100% of the water used is drawn from our partner’s very own reservoir, which contains no chlorine, chloramines, mercury, VOC’s, pharmaceuticals, herbicides or pesticides. Your scarf is also hand-finished in Macclesfield, where Britain’s textile industry was born.

Does Kathy design textiles?

Yes. Kathy hand paints and digitises her artwork to create all forms of artwork for textiles. She has created the bespoke fabric design for her custom dress for her launch.

What kind of packaging do you use?

Your silk twill scarf will be packaged in a luxury book style box with a ribbon closure for safe storage. It is wrapped in a specially selected archival acid-free paper to help preserve it for years to come. This luxury box is certified to the highest industry standards for sustainability and having a low carbon footprint.

We suggest you store the scarf in this box to protect and maintain its shape when it is not being worn. Should you choose to dispose of the box, it is biodegradable, compostable, recyclable, made from recycled materials and sustainably sourced.
